The public transport company Skopje is an organized system and the largest carrier of passengers in the capital of the Republic of North Macedonia, with a clearly defined activity of special social interest.

JSP SKOPJE is responsible for the transportation of passengers in public city and suburban traffic in the area of ​​the city of Skopje.

Based on the decision of the Executive People’s Board of the City of Skopje from 1947, on January 17, 1948, the City Bus Traffic Company was constituted.

By Decision of the Assembly of the City of Skopje from 1989, the Working Organization for City Traffic “Skopje” was transformed into PUBLIC TRANSPORT ENTERPRISE SKOPJE. According to Article 10, position 4, paragraph 10 of the Law on the City of Skopje, the arrangement and organization of public urban and suburban passenger transportation, as the only transportation system in the city, is under the jurisdiction of the City of Skopje.
